Windows Phone 8.1 Hackable #Hacking #Hacked #Windows

Do you wanna hack Nokia Lumia phone running the latest mobile operating system Windows 8.1 ?? Hackers have made it very easy for you all..!!
Just few weeks after Microsoft announced a 19 year-old critical security hole existed in almost every version of its Windows operating system, XDA-developers have discovered a new vulnerability in Microsoft’s youngest OS Windows 8.1 that could easily be exploited by hackers to hack a Nokia Lumia phone.
XDA Developers hacker who go by the name DJAmol has found a wide open hole in OS Windows Phone 8.1 which makes the operating system very easy to hack. The vulnerability allows attackers to run their application with other user's privileges and edit the registry.

DJAmol realized that simply by replacing the contents of a trusted OEM app that has been transferred over to the SD card, the app will inherit the privileges of the original app. Once done, an attacker could then delete the existing directory and create a new directory with the same name as the original App.
As a result, the third party registry editor app will gain full access to the Info and Settings in the app itself. This how the hack can be implement in a few simple steps prescribed by XDA-developers in a blog post.
  • Develop your own application package and deploy it on the target device.
  • Install an any application such as “Glance Background Beta” from the Window Phone app Store.
  • Delete all folders under the targeted directory of the installed app, in this case, Glance background.
  • Now copy the contents of your own deployed package and paste it on the targeted directory. This implies replacing the “Program Files” of the installed app with your package files.
  • Finally launch the App which will run in OEM (Glance Background beta) directory using the privileges of the targeted App.
The hack is very simple and easy to implement because all it need an application from the Window app store. But thankfully, the hack has not yet escalated to a full interop unlock, as the applications which are allowed to be moved to the SD card have limited access.
XDA developers forum reported the vulnerability to the Microsoft and also warned them that the vulnerability could give higher privileges to the attackers if tried using a First Party Application, rather a third party app. By the time, we can just wait for a response from Microsoft’s part to prevent it from getting more serious.

How To Make Your PC{Personal Computer} Secure? #Whitehat #Infosec #Security

Nowadays a lot of people try to access your computer. There are many worms, Trojans, spywares which allow remote users to get access to your computer. There are
some methods which you can implement to make your PC secure.

I. Update your OS.
Update your operating system regularly, automatic update is recommended. This helps to remove bugs and prevents viruses and bad guys from exploiting them. Every user must install updates, especially security updates.
If you dont install latest updates then you are leaving your computer at risk.

II. Always use genuine software.
Not only using pirated software is illegal but all websites which provide these pirated software downloads are full of malwares and viruses.
More than 90 percent of pirated softwares contain worms in their crack file.
If you are really serious about security of your accounts and information then genuine softwares are recommended.

III. Update your softwares.
Similar to OS updates you must update your browsers, any any other software which connects to internet for whatever reason it may be.
Update other softwares like Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Shockwave, and Oracle Java. Adobe Flash player and java are the main target of the bad
guys.
Cracked or pirated softwares contains viruses and worms, better use genuine.

IV. NO trial Antivirus.
Antivirus helps protect from viruses, worms, Trojans etc. But you should
update it regularly to be safe from latest threats. Never use trial, free or pirated antivirus programs, most of them are gateway for viruses and worms.
Havent you noticed your system hangs or reboots whenever you antivirus is about to expire.
Dont buy security software in response to unexpected pop-up messages or emails, especially messages that claim to have scanned your computer and found malware.
Scammers send messages like these to try to get you to buy worthless software, or worse, to break and enter your computer.

V. Install a Firewall.
Firewall blocks the security holes in your OS or any other software. Some antivirus programs provide firewall with them. Better use total protection antivirus.

VI. Enable file extensions.
Sometimes viruses are hidden in images or document file.
File name displayed will be abc.doc, but the actual name of the file may be abc.doc.exe. However, this is not a problem for win7 or win8 users.

VII. Be careful while using P2P software.
P2P softwares like torrent, bit torrent, etc. Files downloaded through this type of softwares may contain worms, Trojans and viruses.

VIII. Use secure passwords.
Secure password helps unauthorized access.
Avoid common words like names, birthdays, etc Use different passwords for all your accounts and connections, if you can’t remember all of them then use a password manager.
A secure password consists of at least eight characters and contains a number, an uppercase letter and a special character. Read more about secure password here.

IX. Use a Router when you are online.
It prevents direct attack on your system. Nowadays ISP provides modem cum router.
Change router password from default to any other password, because everyone knows default password is "admin" for most routers.
Update firmware of router, this helps in closing security holes in the router.

X. Keep Administrator account different.
If you use an administrator account on your PC, malware may also execute as admin. Vista, win7 and win8 provide User Account Control (UAC), still better is not to use an admin account.
Create a new user with required permission and then use it.

Hacking Administrator Password Using Guest Account #Hacker #Hacking #Windows

Hacker

A hacker is someone who seeks and exploits weaknesses in a computer system or computer network. Hackers may be motivated by a multitude of reasons, such as profit, protest, or challenge. The subculture that has evolved around hackers is often referred to as the computer underground and is now a known community. While other uses of the word hacker exist that are not related to computer security, such as referring to someone with an advanced understanding of computers and computer networks, they are rarely used in mainstream context. They are subject to the long standing hacker definition controversy about the true meaning of the term hacker. In this controversy, the term hacker is reclaimed by computer programmers who argue that someone breaking into computers is better called a cracker, not making a difference between computer criminals (black hats) and computer security experts (white hats). Some white hat hackers claim that they also deserve the title hacker, and that only black hats should be called crackers.

Hacking Administrator password using guest account
Many of you might be using computers with Guest accounts specially in schools and colleges they restrict you to use administrator account.
And you have to use guest as you don't have the Administrator password!
But after this tutorial you don;t need to ask anyone for getting Administrator password :)

There are 2 methods to get Administrator password. Choose the one which seems more suitable for you.

METHOD 1

1) Go to C:/windows/system32

2) Copy cmd.exe and paste it on desktop

3) Rename cmd.exe to sethc.exe

4) Copy the new sethc.exe to system32 folder, when windows asks for overwriting the file, then click YES

5) Now Log out from your guest account and at the user select window, press shift key 5 times

6) Instead of Sticky Key confirmation dialogue, command prompt with full administrator privileges will open

7) Now type NET USER ADMINISTRATOR "pass" "where pass" can be any password you like and press enter You will see The Command completed successfully" and then exit the command prompt and login into administrator with your new password. You have hacked admin through guest account.

METHOD 2

1. Right-click on My Computer icon on the desktop OR in the Start Menu

2. Select the option Manage

3. On the left pane expand the Computer Management (Local) tree"

4. Double click Local Users and Groups option. From System Tools tree

5. Click the Users option

10. After entering the password click on OK. The password is changed.
You have successfully changed the Administrator password.
Enjoy :)

32-bit or 64-bit, What to choose and Why? #Windows #OperatingSystems #OS

The tendency of a computer’s processor to deal with information on RAM (random access memory) depends upon 32 bit and 64 bit version of Windows. 64 bit version can handle more RAM and apps than 32 bit.
Let’s understand it in a simple way. 64 bit version can deal with physical memory (RAM) above 4 GB and up to 128GB (yes, it exists!) while 32-bit version ...can address RAM up to 4 GB only. Therefore, if you have a 32 bit version of Windows installed on your computer then installing RAM above 4 GB doesn’t make sense.
The ability to handle large memory makes the 64 bit version more efficient while dealing with processes. Hence, it increases the overall performance of your PC. So 64 bit is more powerful in a nutshell. Now lets check some more things related to these two technologies.

Advantages of 64 bit computer--

  1. The main advantage of using 64-bit version of Windows is that it offers better memory accessibility and management.
  2. Enhanced security features like Kernel p@tch Protection, support for hardware-backed data execution protection, mandatory driver signing, removal of support for 32-bit drivers and removal of the 16-bit subsystem available.
  3. Performance of those programs that are specially written for 64 bit operating system is great.

Disadvantages of 64 bit computer--

  1. There is no specific disadvantage of using this version but there are some things you have to take care of before deciding to use it.
  2. You should check availability of device drivers because 32 bit device drivers do not work on 64 bit version.
  3. Most of the hardware devices are not compatible with 64-bit computer.
  4. Device drivers must be digitally signed by the developer.
  5. Some programs of 32 bit aren’t compatible with 64 bit.

[How to Choose a correct version of Windows]
64 bit version--

Selecting correct version of Windows depends upon your priority and need. If you want to take advantage of large memory (more than 4 GB) then you could go for 64-bit version. But do check for the 64-bit versions of various tools and programs you use everyday before making the switch.
Most of new software and hardware are supported by 64-bit version. Check compatibility status of your software and devices.

32 bit version--

32 bit versions are cheaper than 64 bit versions.
If you are using old software and hardware then you could go with 32-bit version because it can support all your program and devices.

Note: Most programs designed for 32 bit version can support 64-bit version too (except some antivirus programs). But if a program is designed for 64 bit version then it won’t work on 32 bit version.
